I know a while back people were wondering if Six Flags would send out season passes. Well I just received mine and I'm happy I waited because I saved the $15 shipping fee. So if you had a season pass last year , check your mail soon for easy on-line  activation and No waiting at the park!

I got mine in the mail but had already ordered online.
I called six flags to see if they could something about shipping and they said:

If you ordered SF Passes online and got them in the mail bring both passes to Guest Relations for two free passes for compensation for the shipping costs.

Get back to us on how they handle this!

There are TONS of us that I know ordered passes online (including my entire family) out of fear that the prices would go up again; which they did.

So with that said, I think the lower price vs. the higher cost of renewing the one you got in the mail is a wash which would seem to make sense.  Therefore, I'd be surprised if they actually do this for you.

I did the print-n-go thing so I didn't pay shipping but I'm sure many other people did so if this actually happens, there could be a lot of happy SP holders out there :)
