Meanwhile, the amusement park said its newest attraction next season will be a 60-foot funnel-shaped water ride called the Tornado that will be added to the Hurricane Harbor water park.

What happened with that lackluster article?
Oh and by the way GAdv is getting a Tornado.

Always a joy to read the comment section!

Very nice! Many, many years late but still good! When can I start asking for the water coaster?

From that article it seems like that's all we're getting for next year. Ah well.

Also, discounting the season passes? What does that mean?

Edit: Nevermind. Helps if I keep reading.

Quote
ix Flags Great Adventure has introduced a pass for $69.99, giving customers admission this year to Fright Fest, its annual Halloween celebration, and unlimited access all of next season to the Great Adventure theme park and other Six Flags theme parks nationwide.

It also will lower the season pass for the theme park and safari to $79.99 from $99.99. And it will lower the season pass for the theme park, safari and water park to $99.99 from $129.99. The daily passes — $39.99 online and $49.99 at the gate — will remain the same.

Again, I'd love to see their reasoning for keeping the daily and season pass prices so close together. As I keep saying, separate the prices more! The more a customer has to think about the decision on what to buy, the more likely they are to repeatedly buy a daily pass over a season pass, because they can't afford it "that day". And that will end up with more revenue overall, vs someone (like me!) who buys a season pass, goes 30 times in one season (alright, not me this year) and barely buys anything at the park.

I mainly just ride the costers too. I go about 20-50 times a year (7 this year). And just ride the rollercoasters.

IT's a crowd pleaser. But like most fads, it will wear out after a while.  why don't they get one of those endless wave generators where you can ride a boogey board on?

Well, one thing I didn't know about a Tornado before I rode one is that it's a 2-4 person ride. You cannot go on by yourself (unless there are different kinds?), so enjoy riding with a stranger if you don't have a friend to go with!

It's the same with the disco-ball kind. I've been on them before down in Orlando.

I had actually assumed everyone here already knew about this but I guess not???  It's a much needed attraction and will certainly help with capacity while knocking the other lines down a bit. It will also provide good eye candy upon entering the park which should get peoples attention and get them in to check it out. I agree it's a fad but still a smart move from an investment perspective.

Maybe I'll finally go to the water park next year. Tornado slides are fun and no more a fad than roller coasters.
