What, you don't have a trait for riding a drop tower?

However I do agree they are still quite thrilling.
I've said before SFGA should have built one by now cuz the novilty has died consiterably in the past 10 years. Perhaps there is a next generation of DT's in store worth waiting for. For example 500 foot ones... or one that drops into the ground, stops there and capapolts you back from beneath. something like that. I just don't think they are worth 10ish million in todays world.

I want one! LOL.  I think I drop tower would do well at GA.  Dorney's the only park in the area with a good one, so it's not like we're adding another one to an inundated market.

Well, it is a wish list.  It doesn't have to be realistic. Even if the chain doesn't want one, it still would fill a nice hole in our ride collection...or at least throw some dirt in the major hole we have.

But we don't want to have a "war on lines" campaign like '99. Their was was such a huge employee shortage that some of the flat rides were open for like 3 weeks out of the year

I guess I'm just not a big fan. I went to dorney last year for the first time and the only memory I have of Dominator was the cheese and chili on my "dominator dog".

Marineland near me (Niagara Falls) has one of these timber towers. I wouldn't go to marineland, but it looks daunting! I think Matt, and Bubba went there last year. Marineland also has a big drop tower. 3 towers I believe. Which seems odd cuz nobody goes on the rides at marineland. I would think a single drop would suffice.

Pretty cool when you consider from the top there is a perfect view of Niagara falls.

I like how it catapults up, stalls for a while then drops.

I Think this is a cool ride. This is the Krypton coaster in Fiesta Texas. It has similarity of the track elements with Medusa, But, it drops off by the cliff and has a helix by the cliff. That looks very exciting when you take the first drop coming that close to the cliff.

Keansburg has a S&S drop tower, granted they aren't a major park.  I thought their drop tower was pretty good.

I found there's to be ok.  You'd think that being on the water would provide a better setting than Dorney, but it doesn't for some reason.  Maybe Steel Force in the distance adds to it.

Yes, and unlike the S&S towers these have about a 54 person load per cycle.

Timber Towers are totally lame. Tall S&S towers have nothing on Intamin drop towers (old and new) or even the small off-brand towers like at Morey's and Beech Bend. The first generation Intamin drop ride, Demon Drop at Cedar Point is WAYYYY more exciting than their ginormous S&S Power Tower.

Superman Krypton Coaster was kind of disappointing. It has a beautiful setting but Medusa was/is a more powerful ride.

Honestly, sometimes you scare me.  Our impressions of rides are usually so similar it is scary...Not unlike Mike from Nashville on rrc.  Then again, I much prefer many other wooden coasters to that relatively new thing at Holiday World, so I guess all is well....

Yes, Demon Drop is far superior to any later style INTAMIN drop ride, in my book.  And I agree, Timber Towers are great rides but not at all intense or thrilling.  They sure look like they would be from the ground, though.
