The Day The Amusement Died
« on: May 27, 2008, 06:44:45 AM »
If you don't know about Great Adventure's most tragic day, this will teach a lot.  And it will also show one reason (along with the Beverly Hills Supper Club fire in Northern Kentucky) why fire safety is taken so seriously in haunts:

GADV will never be able to live that day down. I know too many people who remember the fire and refuse to go to the park as a result.  :(
Are you ready to send those commies running back to their mommies?

You need to realize fire safety and material for haunts is
1,000 times better these days.  Yes , it's sad those people died , but we can still learn how to protect others from the same thing ever happening again.

I would say I feel pretty safe walking into Great Adventure knowing they have a great team looking out for guest safety.  These accidents happened back in the 80's. Whats happened since ?

And just amusement industry wide, how many accidents have occurred that were not caused by idiots not adhering warnings and signs.
