Neat idea for a post.  I'm a bit surprised by the 800x600 vote.  It that due to hardware constraints?  There are almost no web sites anymore (including this one lol) that support such a low resolution.

Overlord, that would be a native res for a wide screen laptop ;)

I run 1600x1200 on my 21"  "workhorse PC"
I run 1080x1024 native on my 19" LCD "home PC" (new 19" LCD $99 see below for link)

and on my ThinkPad Z60m 15.4in Widescreen I run 1680x1050 LCD native
I own many many laptops and this is my only widescreen.
Most of my other laptops run 1024x768 or higher
And on the smaller side- On my 3G Cingular 8525 I run 320x240  LOL

19" JC-199D Analog Digital Flat Panel LCD Monitor $99 after rebate

Same here.  Anything finer than 1024 x 768 and it's too small for this old guy to read! :)

to me the higher the resolution the more you can have on the screen
the more room to work.
Yes it harder on the eyes  :o
it's like having a bigger desk for all your work and papers

games look awesome at 1600x1200 and higher just need a fast vid card

Actually I really don't have the time to play any games but when I did if only for 20 minutes they looked best at 1600x1200  ho ho ho  he he he  LOL.
Yes I remember when the first Quake came out and everyone went out and paid $300 for a 3Dfx ADD-ON video accelerator it worked alongside a 2d video card.
they are now worth about $1 now and obsolete, Microsoft's Direct X, Direct 3D took over OpenGL . I'm showing my age
I even sell GeForce 4 video cards New for $14
I remember buying a 2400baud modem for $120 now I'm moving at 8-12mbps
Yes and Monopoly will never get old.

Um, yeah.... except for areas with high populations or during peak usage hours, or when its not raining...and so on and so on.... Comcast is scared and should be.  FIOS will eventually crush them.  Coax simply can't compete.  Plus, FIOS won't degrade the way cable does if there happens to be a ton of customers on the same leg as you or if some kid decides they need to down load movies 24/7.

Btw- Isn't this a tad off topic lol

Hainesport is NOT going to get fiber optic, PERIOD. they told us it would cost too much to install here. They will only put it in rich neighborhoods. >:(

n New Jersey, Verizon's FiOS TV is available now to approximately 250,000 households in parts of 106 communities in Bergen, Camden, Middlesex, Monmouth, Morris, Passaic, Somerset and Union counties. The service will soon be expanded to hundreds of thousands of additional households in more than 100 additional communities. Under the state's new streamlined video franchise law, Verizon has announced plans to offer FiOS TV over its all-fiber network in more than 300 communities in the next few years.
