We got to the park and I was amped about the bridge so I went straight to PDC for El Toro if it opens and Rolling Thunder. El Toro was closed in the morning so we'll ride Rolling Thunder. The ride wasn't unbare-ably rough and only had 1 good airtime spot, but didn't hate it. Then we walked across the bridge (YEEESSSS
) to Medusa. Walk on, 2nd row. Medusa is definitely a front of the train ride. It was much more intense and I liked it alot more.
After that we hopped on the Sky Ride which had minimal waits on the Medusa side and 20 min waits on the Skull Mountain side all day. Got some sweet pics of the park from the sky ride, and it was my first ride on the right side. Then we went on Skull Mountain, 2 train wait for back row. Sweet ejector in the back row, reall fun as always. Then we walked to Nitro to find a 10 minute wait. We just jumped in 6th row. Good ride as always. After that we walked and had lunch at Nathan's.
After Nathan's we jumped on KK's line. Wow, this thing was running as bad as it did when if first opened to the GP last year. 2 trains sent, 20 min breakdown and repeat. Awful. We left the line and went to El Toro. First I jumped in the test seat. It is SWEET!. It tells you if your good or not and it has a button like a real ride op would have to release the restraint. The wait for El Toro was 40 minutes, Back row. Amazing airtime once again. 2nd best ride only to the first ride I've ever had on it. After El Toro we went back to KK but it broke down the second we got settled on line so we left.
After that we just wanted to hit some flats near Skull Mountain. We hit Fantasy Fling, Buccaneer and the Ferris Wheel all in no time. After that we decided to end the day with B:TR, Nitro, and KK. B:TR's line started on the last stair case before the station. 10 minute wait, back row. I almost blacked out on the vertical loops this time. Wow, I was tunneling out, amazing ride. The wait for Nitro was only to the tunnel under the track. 10 minute wait, back row.
So then it was KK time. I still haven't ridden this since April 29th. We get on line, just outside the Kingda Ka sign. Then it breaks down. Yeah, so what, we got time to kill, we're staying. This line moved consistantly even through the breakdown. . We got to the last switchback in 2 hours without a train moving. Then I just said, this thing is not gonna open again, so we left and went to El Toro. After waiting through one switchback, Kingda Ka launches an empty train. We sprint back to Kingda Ka and wait for 20 minutes. I talked with this idiot coaster enthusiast (Or he thought he was) that said "They don't even have both sides of El Toro running and it's July!" and he knew what RT was too. He also said TTD was 410 ft. He was an idiot. The finally they make the dreaded announcement that Kingda Ka is closed for the night. Security guards sprinted and escorted the ride ops out of the station. People were fuming. One kid that was at the start didn't even get out of line. He said that he waited 5 hours and he's riding it, he doesn't care.
After that, I marched straight to Guest Relations and got Exit Passes for Nitro. Then walked on B:TR back row and re-rode in the second to last row.
Overall the day was pretty good, it was an experience.
Some Notes:
-B:TC's train still in pieces outside the storage track
-El Toro opened around 3 pm, ran flawlessly the whole day
-Yay bridge!
-Waited 4 hours total for KK, didn't even ride it
