A boy expecting a day packed with fun landed in the hospital Thursday afternoon when a bird slammed his face as he was riding the Kingda Ka roller coaster at Six Flags Great Adventure.

Kristin Siebeneicher, a spokeswoman for the park in Jackson, N.J., said the roller coaster had already plummeted 45 stories back toward the ground and was pulling into the station when the bird struck the passenger's face.

Well, you can't fault anyone, But this has been a horrible year for the park.

Someone somewhere is going to blame the park for this.

He got hit when returning to the station the article said. He couldn't have been going that fast and the reports of only minor injuries also confirm this belief. Hate how the headline makes it sound way worse.

I saw an article with a picture of the kid's face and it looked like he was on the losing end of a boxing match. Depending on where he was on the hill when the bird struck him, he could have still been moving at a pretty good speed. Somebody get these avian creatures to stop screwing around at the park near our rides!
