looks like it's gonna be very well paced.
It always was, aside from the jack-hammering.

Aside from the jack-hammering? You mean there was something else?
Wow, who never knew that...

It didn't always jack-hammer you to death.
It was a great layout under all of the problems and was once even in my top ten woodie list (before it got really bad).

I'm sorry, do you also claim Son of Beast was once good?
Wow, who wonders

No, Son of Beast has a terrible layout. I found it rather fun still for the loop and extreme speed when it first opened, but it sucked pretty soon after that.

And then it just plain sucked in general after the loop was removed.

Yeah, the loop made the boring layout kind of forgivable. It's pointless now. Millennium Force is wayyy better.

and now it's just standing there rotting away...
getting back on topic (somewhat), Cedar Point should look into this for Mean Streak; atleast it will shut up all the haters including me.

And with what would they pay for it?
Capital investment at Cedar Fair is greatly reduced for the next several years on a per park basis, as was indicated during today's conference call...emphasis is on cheap and cheerful attractions, not major investments. Two parks each year may get a major ride.
I cannot imagine Cedar Fair spending that kind of money to rehab a coaster at Cedar Point, when the same money or less could be used to buy a new attraction.
Windseeker, for example, cost only $5 million.

True, I didn't really recall that they're putting themselves in a bit of a spending diet; but then and again they were just coming out of bankruptcy and getting picked up by a holding company.

Cedar Fair did NOT go bankrupt...nor was it acquired by Apollo, as the unitholders handily rejected that deal. A Texas multi-billionaire obtained quite a bit of the units, and he is putting a great deal of pressure on them to produce earnings.

This may be the only reason I'll be getting a Six Flags Season Pass for 2011.
Video over at Screamscape
Have there ever been any other wood to steel conversions like this?
Not sure how I feel about those trains.

Crappy NoLimits model, but looks like they got rid of the helix to save some potential energy to make the magic carpet finale even faster than before. Also of note, they added a tunnel.

They seriously should fire whoever created that clip, that was absolute crap. I have noticed that the new caddy trains have glass on the sides, Do they think someone's gonna get their hand ripped of in one of the underpasses?

Safety standards in 2010/2011 are very different than those when the coaster was first built...

Usually a ride can be grandfathered into MOST safety standards as long as substantial rehab does not occur. When it does, the new standards must normally be met.

There must be a reach issue. It's no different than the side bars on Toro. And actually, these being clear may be less annoying. Well, at least until they are yellowed, scuffed and written on.
