I have stayed at the Knoebels campground in the summer, but never ventured in there over PPP. I always hotel it.

Book your PPP room NOW. Pretty much all of the area hotels will be sold out by Fall.

My reason for wanting to stay there is incase my fam wimps out on saturday night after 8 rds of voyage, they can take the car and I can walk back at mid-night.

Bedsides the closeness is the hotel nice? Also do you need to reserve way in advance for that weekend?

It's worth it just because you can walk across the street to the park.

It's not bad on top of that, but don't expect the quality to match the price (it's no Marriott).

So why are the rooms so cheap now... Is it possible they don't look into when this years Covered Bridge Festival is schedualed for until later on?

Is the Campground too crazy, or just cold?

I didn't expect SL to be great... just try to book it mid-week out of season... prices are wayyy down. They know when HWN's is unlike PPP in Danville. ;)

But basically I was only planning on booking SL.. Unless someone told me is was horrilbe and had bugs in the walls.

The rooms are always cheap when I book (several months in advance). Speaking of that, I should start looking into it. Not sure if the prices go up around the time of the event or not. The Hampton is ohhh so nice. The Red Roof is decent for a cheap room.

Yeah I don't think you'll mind Santa's Lodge, especially when you realize how close to the park you actually are. Less than 5 minute walk and you're inside the park gate. The walk across the HW parking lot is probably longer than the walk to the parking lot from Santa's Lodge.

Does Boulder Dash have an event? The only time you could get night rides is on saturdays.

It says on the link only 117 ppl last year... why so few?
Also this years page isn't up. What is the jist of the itinerary? One day, 2 hr ERT, same price as a one-day admission... something like that?

Something like that. The ERT was some of the best ever! Rob and I got the second to last row of the faster train (other train was cold) and didn't have to get out until ERT was over.

It's a regional  event that most people won't travel far to get to, especially that time of the year. But there were plenty of attendees that day. Wouldn't want any more.

It was also a damp and dreary October day.
El Toro has never been the same since that day on Boulder Dash. Wow!!

Do you have a triple down, 3-90 deg banked turns, or timberliners? cuz if not i'd say the voyage. How can you blame me for being this excited? Never been to HW or KI... Voyage, Beast, Raven, Legend, Diamondback, Flight Deck, FOF... I've even recently got really excitted about Firehawk.

I'm at least glad SOB's fait is official now... Last year for my SFGA trip Ka was rummored open day, then closed the next, back and forth.. It was torture! It wasn't until the weekend before I left they finally decided to give it a fixing and not just a band-aid.

Once I saw that it was closed it was a relief.

Well here's hoping all of your credits are open for this trip. I know the pain of missing out on a ride you're excited to ride. Too bad SoB will be standing there taunting you. At least the loop won't be there. Just go straight for the Beast to get your credit and then repeat as often as you can through out the day and hopefully you'll catch a night ride to top it off.

I'd like to but it's probably not going to happen. Exam week is the week after HWN's so I don't want to run into that too much. Also that would mean only a half day or so at KI. Which would probably be fine, except for the never been there part. Also I don't think it would be fair to the beast to ride it for the first time mid-day AFTER ridding the Voyage all night the day before. Next time I make it HWN's Beast night rides will definatly be on tap.

Also booked room for PPP... Very excitted about both these events. Go right to the hotel website for days inn dansville and rooms are only 54.50 after tax. If you book on days inn general website they are 65 or so.
