Heh, NASCAR, I find it so exciting to watch cars lap around a road 500 times, going in circles...

Two people arguing about wheather or not nascar is a sport is like a dog lover and a cat lover trying to convert each other. It's a waste of breath. Can't change those opinions.

That being said, Nascar's garbage and dogs are annoying! haha

I'm not a fan of NASCAR but I'll admit it's a sport. It may not require the most athleticism, but neither does golf or baseball, and those are also sports.

I think this coaster will be plenty of fun, probably not worth waiting in the line that it will draw, but that's fine by me. I'll get a ride or two on it next year I'm sure, and you'll see me in line for Avalanche and Grizzly most of the day, ending the night at Volcano :)

Yeah, that sucks about Chiller...I hate to see it like that. Hey, so we should get a group picture or something ok. I'll call you later!

I started respecting NASCAR when I found out that their cockpits can reach temps of ~115 degrees during races.  Then, with that going on, they still have to pilot that car at high speeds while avoiding others.  It's a different kind of athletic.  But, I'd still rather watch something than cars making left turns for 500 miles, LOL.

I would've really been looking forward to it if it weren't for the OTSR's.  Instead of riding with my hands in the air, I'll be holding on for dear life trying to avoid being bashed into the OTSR.  If MF can use lap bars, this one can too.  There's no reason to have OTSR's.

From what I read on other websites, people who attended media day said that the OSTR's were not being used and not everything in the animation is correct.

B&M won't build 300 feet, and KD has "competition" issues with SFA and BGW, there for they aren't allowed to build a hyper coaster since both parks have one, thus they went with a 300 footer. Intamin was the way to go.

How is SFA competition to them? I can see BGW, but SFA?

It's within a certain number of miles, and they have a "hyper coaster". I don't have the exact statement from the parks obviously, but KD getting a 300 footer was due to BGW and SFA having hypers.

Diamondback is in Ohio... Not in the same area of the Mid Atlantic parks

For some reason I always mix up the cedar fair rides, my bad.

anyway, I haven't been to KD since the year after Volcano opened, so I don't know much about the park other than the bobsled coaster and grizzly.

Kings Dominion is in the same marketing area as BGW and SFA.  Kings Island may as well be in Africa to most of the people in the Mid-Atlantic market.  It is a good 9 hour drive from Kings Island to Kings Dominion.

I would not assume they would not.  Would a park pay for that these days?  Perhaps so, but I doubt it in North America...

2) Research
3) Designing
4) planning
5) very long wait time for 1-4.

I do recall the specifically pointing out that they wouldn't ever build that high. It would require too many changes to their structure design and the box beam track. I guess never say never but they were the ones that pointed this out at one time.
