Intamin accelerators everywhere!

It seems that every park anywhere is getting them. They are truely the new inverts which isnt a bad thing since they are getting more imaginative.

I mean before this year there were already 6 and now 5 more are being constructed/being tested/opened (after our season).
What are your thoughts about all these new rockets popping up?

I don't think you need to worry about Cedar Fair or Six Flags buying any from INTAMIN any time soon . . .

Once Intamin can show that these rockets are reliable, alot of these will start popping up.

That assumes that parks will be buying new coasters that cost as much as these do.  I am not at all sure that is a safe assumption for the near term.

The only problems are with KK/TTD. These designs are much more like Xcelerator and Storm Runner, which have had much fewer problems.

I believe I can recall SR being down for some time as well.  I guess it's just a new fad such as the Standup was, but this fad is ALOT better than the standup was.

Where is the first rocket coaster being bulit at? Speeding car?

Xcelerator had minor problems, but nothing compared to TTD or KK. I don't recall Storm Runner having anything major wrong with it.

And I haven't heard of the newest ones that have opened having any issues.

I wouldn't compare this fad to stand-ups....more like inverts. A huge boom and then after a few years, one maybe 2 a year.

I would say that they are more like Arrow loopers in the 80s. Almost every park had (at least) one and then they eventually just died out when something new came along (B&M).

now.. i kind of agree, but i also feel as though once SF realizes everyone else is buying coasters like this.. therye going to have to buy them too.  OF course we already have the biggest and baddest that intramin could possibly make of any roller coaster.  Once the next big thing comes along.. i have the feeling we may look into it long before anyone else does, just like the rockets.
