Sahara Sam's update
« on: April 12, 2008, 03:25:06 PM »
i was on my way to Berlin flea mkt. Saw lots of construction activity at Sahara Sam's water park. Looks like whatever was holding it up was solved.
Are you ready to send those commies running back to their mommies?

that's funny I was going to do an update on Sams
I was there a week ago and took pics and went into the sales center.
I don't see myself going here its very costly like $28 a day but I'm sure they will have coupons
annual pass is around $120 for adults $169 for kids.
Clementon park is only $49 but outside.
This is great for the locals and many Flyers Hockey players live a few blocks down the road.
the one cool thing they will have is a "Flowrider" you can surf and boogie board on these. I was one one last Sept. on a cruise.

David I was also at Berlin mart today  (had to take my mother in-law)

Is that a custom plate Tom? :D

Thanks for the update.  I do find it rather odd that a Ms. Pacman is in the office though lol

Dainan, Jackie and I met in Berlin on Sunday for opening day at Sahara Sam's Oasis. We passed up time in the huge game room for time on the water slides.

We rode the enclosed family raft and enjoyed its steep drops and twisted direction, and we each got a turn riding backwards. The two enclosed tube slides were nuts! With over 450 lbs in the double tubes, the speed was breath taking. The three slides take you outside of the building and as the sun went down, the enclosed slides grew darker. If I'm not mistakened, we picked up more speed too. I do believe we went upside down! You can ride the single tubes backwards...or you physically are able to. Not sure if you are allowed to. How was it Dainan?

We marathoned the slides as the place emptied out, until we could not walk the flights of stairs anymore more.

We had the sauna to ourselves at one point. Mmm

By the time we rode the flow rider, the moon came out. I don't think I'll be trying one of these again. How was it Jackie?

The Oasis was a little crowded when arrived but it emptied out within a couple of hours. We had the lazy river to ourselves for the remainder of the evening.

$33 was the wristband price and it was a heck of a way to spend a Sunday night...if you're not at Solid Rock Baptist down the road.

Here are a few previews

HAHAHAHA! Sauna? You mean Hot Tub, how tired are you Dan? Or should I say "The room temperatured bubbling pool." :P

Anyway, it was a fun time. Not too crowded, and even though there were a few opening day flaws (like the whole locker issue), they did very well, and everyone was friendly. I feel they needed a Tornado slide, but hearing us scream bloody murder on the raft slide was pretty funny too.

And yes Dan...the slides backwards were CRAE!

Nice trip report
I didn't even know it was to open that day until it was to late.
this is good to see for the locals
I'm sure they sold many season passes (with the higher income housing in that area) a great way to get the kids out of the house.

edit:
after reviewing the pics
whats up with Dainan wardrobe change  :)

and what is this the tube lift ?

Yes, that's the lift for the family raft tubes.

I forgot to mention that the locker gave us a slight problem. Scanning a wristband over a laser is required to open your locker and it proved to be a little difficult.

I come with an assortment of bathing suites in all colors and sizes. Some of them stay on while you're on the flow rider.
