Knott's Winter Coaster Solace - Official Info released
« on: January 19, 2006, 09:49:25 PM »
http://www.knotts.com/pdf/06WinterSolace.pdf

A few things jump out at me from the flyer:

- No specific schedule of morning/evening ERT
- EXCLUSIVE in-park offers for ACE members ONLY
- $229 for the hotel deal ... yet no ERT is listed for Friday night, only VIP dinner is indicated. Doesn't mean they won't have ERT, but it is usually indicated on the flyer.

We have gotten the Courtyard by Marriot that is within walking distance of Knott's in the past for $50 a night through Priceline. Not sure if the Friday night event will be worth it, especially if there isn't ERT.

Yeah, were getting a hotel right across the street from Disneyland. I wonder what the in-park offers are. I guess I am signing up for ACE this year.

Hmm.... Knotts should really give some more info. It's far too vague right now.

If I am going to get a Screamscape pass, should I put "Screamscape" for coaster club affilliation?

^ I would wait until Screamscape actually comes out with the pass.

Let me talk to Jim from WestCoaster and see if Knott's is going to allow them to do the pass this year.

Spoke with Jim yesterday and he says that Knott's will most likely allow them to do the pass. If they give him grief he's got a good contact in Jack Falfas ... I think he can get some things done. ;)

Were possibly having dinner with Jim and his Fiance' tonight, I will try to find out more then.

We also may be stopping by Knott's this afternoon so I will see if I can get a schedule of ERT and more info on the Friday night reception.

Thanks for keeping us updated, Gregg. I'm glad we didn't go with the Resort package as it is more $ than previous years, and still no sign on ERT for Friday night. We picked up the Ramada directly across from Disney's pedestrian entrance for around $90 a night.

Either way, ERT will be had on Saturday, and an entire day at Knotts is really more than enough to enjoy the whole park.

Rob.

Yeah, that sucks about Chiller...I hate to see it like that. Hey, so we should get a group picture or something ok. I'll call you later!

LOL That's funny. I'm just speaking for the newcomers though... I'm sure we'll be spending the entire day there, just trying to squeeze in everythign the park has to offer, coaster wise, flast wise, show wise, anything wise.

Hows GhostRider running these days?

I've certainly had rougher rides on Ghostie, but not many.

The park wasn't too busy for a Saturday. We rode Screamin' Swing and it seemed ALOT faster to me this time. Still too short though.

So seeing as Knott's still hasn't released the "specific" details I sent them off the following message:

Quote
Good Evening,

I?m wondering if a specific schedule for the Friday and Saturday events for WCS7 will be released. From the PDF order form it doesn?t state what time the event starts on Saturday, what ERT will be offered on Saturday or if the Friday night reception includes ERT as in years past.

I know in the past the order form has included all of this information.

I just want to make sure it?s worth paying $300+ for a weekend of fun. =)

Thanks.

Let's see if I get a response.

^ Dude, I have been BEYOND busy at work. 13-16 hour days. Thankfully after this week things will start slowing down ... for the time being.

And I leave for the Phillipenes in April ... Fun stuff.

Here is the schedule, looks like they just copied last years. Still no Silver Bullet morning ERT ... odd.

6:30 AM Registration

7 to 10 AM ERT for Jaguar!, Boomerang and Montezooma's Revenge

8 to 10 AM ERT for Xcelerator, Supreme Scream and Timberline Twister

11 AM Group Photo

12:30 to 2:30 Chicken Dinner Lunch at the Picnic Area

10 PM to Midnight, ERT for SIlver Bullet and Ghostrider, plus a late night snack.

Thats what I expected... seems the same every year now.

With one of Xcel's trains off the tracks right now... do you think it could be up by that Saturday? I'd hate to see another year with only 1 train ops for more than 50% of the day, especially during ERT.

^ I wouldn't count on it.

There is a very good chance we won't end up at Solace this year. We had Disney last weekend, Vegas this weekend, Disney and Sea World next weekend (for our son's b-day). So I think after that we may be parked out for awhile.

We will see though.
