2008 Lake Compounce updates
« on: February 07, 2008, 06:15:49 AM »
This link shows the new paint job on the Zoomerang trains and the new design of the gift shop by the exit.  It also appears that they're now going to make you exit through that gift shop.

Here's a couple of podcasts about all of the work that they're doing on Ghost Hunt this off-season.

Here's the new bunny hop on Boulder Dash which replaced the trick track.

How was the trick track anyway? I've never been on Boulder Dash or any other coaster that has a trick track and I was looking forward to Boulder Dash's trick track if I can get up to Lake Compounce this summer. The bunny hop looks pretty cool though.

^It wasn't "spectacular" but it added something to the ride. From what I'm told it isn't/wasn't the best trick track around. I'm guessing the bunny hill will add much more fun to the ride.

Yeah, that sucks about Chiller...I hate to see it like that. Hey, so we should get a group picture or something ok. I'll call you later!

CCI's version of trick track seemed more like a tracking mistake than anything else.  The similar section on Shivering Timbers was removed long ago.

MF44, go ride Boulder Dash this season because last year it was running great and now with the rest of the ride re-tracked and the added bunny hill. Damn, I wish I was home to go to Lake Compounce this year!

I'm anxious to ride it as well since my only 2 laps were horrific two seasons ago.  I had heard last year was fairly decent and removing the trick track should probably make it even better :).

I'm sure I'll be heading up there at least once over the summer, and again on the Friday before PPP to get some of the unbelievable night rides that this coaster offers.

It was? When? I remember it being there in 2006. I never minded it. Thought it was nice, quirky moment. I wish they would make a trick track bunny hop section; that would be great! The more lateral-airtime moments the better.

I am SO going with you...hopefully both times!

BD last fall was FANTASTIC, almost on par with Voyage's intensity. Wayyyy better than my previous visit in 2001 when there was virtually no airtime.

Excellent. Pre-PPP is 100%, no if, and's or but's.

We're going to the Preservation Con as well.  However, we're skipping the Quassy part of it and heading to Canobie instead.  We've done Quassy once and there's no need to go back.  Plus, it's been about 10 years since we've been to Canobie.
