Shapiro shaking things up at Six Flags (JAN 3; 3:48 PM) Mark Shiparo is beginning to shake up Six Flags less than a month after taking over as president and chief executive. The ESPN programmer announced recently the hiring of another ESPN executive and a promotion for the top boss at the now-shuttered AstroWorld.Mark Quenzel, who helped create ESPN's popular X-Games brand, will work with Chuck Hendrix, a 13-year veteran of Six Flags and former AstroWorld boss, to head the company's new Parks Strategy and Management division. The unit will oversee all park operations, in-park revenue, ticket sales and safety for the company's 30 parks.

QuoteA lot of people have been very quick to jump up against Snyder/Shapiro. We still haven't seen ANYTHING to judge them by yet!I would like to disagree. Mr. Six is gone.

Hiring friends to office...a little unqualified prehaps? Can anyone say George Bush is now running Six Flags?

Funny, He's still on http://www.sixflags.com/. Also, have you seen anything official saying he's gone? I've only seen comments that Snyder doesn't like him and is considering getting rid of him. And news articles referencing those comments. I know he's on his way out, but is this the type of decision that will change my parkgoing experience? No.
