-Dainan "I didn't tell her that cable snaps on coasters were normal" Rafferty

Not quite.

Cables are only on about 18 coasters worldwide. The only ones that have snapped are Ka and TTD. TTD started making people bleed.

Its not quite "normal".

Rich and I were there that day, but luckily we were gone by that time.  I couldn't even imagine witnessing something like that.  It's awful when an innocent person gets injured, especially something as horrific as this.

We were going to ride the tower that day too, but passed due to the line and the fact that they weren't running all of the sides.

Great news to hear something about the poor girl. I am glad to hear they reattached at least one foot . I wonder what is really going on with her parents and park officals. Does anyone think they really didn't come to the hospital at all ? Not even to cover themselves? Sounds strange. Thanks for the update.

OMG

I just can't believe they left the Six Flags sponsorship arrangement in place on the online video.  That is just wrong :(

Come celebrate 45 years of fun at Six Flags right before hearing about a girls feet being cut off.

Thanks for the link wow...

I realize its just the way its worded but doesn't this put a rather negative spin on the Six Flags brand?
Quote
Questions about integrity of Six Flags investigation

Six Flags is being used as the park name.  They should have said "Integrity of investigation AT Six Flags".

The first sentence in the article states it clearly however -
Quote
Questions have been raised about the integrity of the Department of Agriculture's investigation into the accident at Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom.

The headline should have been made just as clear.  Anyway, I have to agree with Ted Sloan.  This is total media BS trying to raise some crap.

It will take a lot to get me on any of these Intamin drop rides once they all reopen.  Reports like that are scary.  Also interesting that it was a non sixflags park that discovered another faulty cable.  This accident could have just as easily happened at a Paramount Fair park to.

It makes you wonder about the Top Thrill cable issue that sent fragments into peoples face.

It makes you second guess any cable and the horrible things that happen when things go bad....

Superman Ride Reopens At Six Flags
 Wednesday, 01 Aug 2007, 6:12 AM CDT

Six Flags Kentucky Superman ride shut down after teen's feet are cut off in freak accident.

Superman is once again rolling at Six Flags in Eureka.

The Superman "Tower of Power" ride was shut down in June following a freak accident at a Kentucky Six Flags that severed a teenager's feet.

The ride in Louisville remains closed and under investigation.

But the Superman ride in eureka passed inspection, and got the ?ok? to reopen over the weekend.

Several other theme parks also shut down their Superman ride following the accident.
