Well, the season is over now? So I guess we can talk a bit more about this now.
A few months back we were asked to assist Discovery Channel with a documentary they are producing as they follow the craze around the 3 US wooden coasters being built for the 2006 season (Beech Bend Park, The Voyage and El Toro). They find it interesting that while all 3 coasters are wooden, they are also all very different in design.
Last night was what I believe to be the final gathering with them on this project. Diana, Coastin Steve and I were back at the park last night being filmed entering the park, walking the park, riding Kingda Ka (sorry to those that had to wait for us!) and some brief interviews.
Last night would also be my final ride of the season. I hadn?t initially intended on being at Gadv on the last operating day of the year with it being Halloween and all (some of us have kids!). However, with such a unique opportunity, we just couldn?t pass it up!
Thanks for a great season Great Adventure and thank you Discovery Channel for bringing us along for the ride! It was a unique experience to say the least and I think we are all scared to hear/see ourselves next Spring!
Here are 2 pictures of the gathering at my house on the day of the announcement -
